Note: This is a reposting of a few comments I left on the otherwise rather pool-of-crap-ish Yahoo! news section comments board. I say "Pool-of-crap-ish" because basically every other comment there is Obama Bashing, Romney Bashing, extreme right-wingnut bile, extreme left-wingnut bile, and just all-around NOT a place conducive to educated discussion concerning news events. Nobody is welcome in the Yahoo! comment section. Nobody. If you're left-wing, stay away; if you're right...Read Full Post »

As such, there WILL be spoilers present, and some aspects of this entry relate to the final third of the movie. If you haven't seen this film yet and don't want to be spoiled, do NOT click through to see the full article! THIS IS YOUR FIRST AND ONLY WARNING.

It's been a sad, sad weekend for the people of Aurora, Colorado.
I realize this blog entry is a bit late. I apologize for that. I was just very shocked by what happened, and I really wasn't sure when the best time would be to talk about it. I spent all weekend thinking of what to say about this and how to say it, and now I feel it is time that I speak up.Read Full Post »

Note: This entry into the Weird Science series takes a slightly different bent than I normally take, mainly because it is a religious subject I am talking about. This article does discuss the Holy Bible in a scholarly, non-religious way, and I am writing this entry based from an open-minded, albeit secular, position. This article is working from the assumption that God does indeed exist in some form - if that frightens some of my secular readers, then seriously, grow ...Read Full Post »

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am a proud peruser of the famed internet site Cracked.Com, full of interesting, unique, fascinating, bizarre, and funny factoids, history, witticisms, and dick jokes (never forget the dick jokes). One of Cracked's favorite pastimes it seems, when its authors aren't talking about how terrifying Nature is or how mind-blowing Science is, is to comment on the stupidity of human beings. You see, gentlereader, human beings are herd animals. We often work best in social group...Read Full Post »

Note: This article contains some sexual content and some description of the human sexual anatomy that could be considered crude or inappropriate for some audiences. If you are of a young age or are a complete prude, I would recommend that you find another article to read. You have been warned!
As most everyone here should hopefully know by now, I'm a fanfic author. I have been proudly writing fanfiction for about nine years now, soon to be ten, and I h...Read Full Post »

Guilty Pleasures! You and me and even you!
Yes, it's no secret around here that I am a huge fan of Internet reviewers, particularly the members of That Guy With The Glasses and their associated reviewers. To name a particular few, I'm an avid fan of the Nostalgia Critic, the Nostalgia Chick, Linkara of Atop the 4th Wall (Where Bad Comics Burn), the Cinema Snob (and Brad Jones' spinoff shows DVR Hell and Brad Tries...), and Diamanda Hagan (All Hail the Lecher...Read Full Post »

Yeah I know, I'm making lots of top five lists. It's all I can think of to do and I'm not exactly in the best mood at the time of posting this one. Why? Because I just encountered one of my five big pet peeve people. Okay so it was online, and I shouldn't have taken the flame bait, but God damn - there really are some people out there you just cannot ever take lightly or ever make fun of, because they piss you off so damn much. These people are not trolls, they are not idiots, and they aren't...Read Full Post »

Ladies and gentlemen, I like tattoos. I have no problem with tattoos. I think tattoos are an art form in and of themselves when they are a) done well and b) have some sort of meaning to the person the tattoo is on (yes, even if I don't personally care for it). In fact, I myself have a tattoo that I got about two years ago, a purple and green dragon sitting with his wings semi-outstretched on my left shoulder blade. It took four hours and yes, I did it all in one session. Here's photograpic ev...Read Full Post »

Note: The following exchange is from a discussion with a fanfic author I am a fan of on FFN. Said author is an adamant Scarecrow fan and has written several fics putting the Master of Fear in bizarre, traumatic, or otherwise Buttmonkey situations, all of which are hilarious and all of which I could easily recommend. However, she's also excellent at writing the Scarecrow in general, and I recently got the opportunity to discuss Batman rogues with her. For the sake of privacy,...Read Full Post »

Jesus H. Christ, Mr. J, what happened to you?
No, really man. You've become a mass-murdering psychotic Mr. Zsasz clone with less tally marks and more giggling. You've lost your sense of dangerous charm, and with it, your appeal as a character. Is it any wonder so many comic fans want to see your head on a pike outside Arkham Asylum's gates when your kill count has exceeded your funny moments?
Joker, consider this an intervention. You have a murder addiction...Read Full Post »

Okay, so... update time! Been a while since I've done one of these, eh? About damn time, too - this blog was starting to curdle it's become so sour. List time!
1) Remember that song from Sesame Street, the one about Knowing the people in your neighborhood, like the police officer, the mail man, and the friendly prostitute that worked the corner (oh wait, she wasn't on there... ignore that)? That song will never leave once you hear it. For those who have never heard...Read Full Post »

Someday, depending on how the United States Congress votes, this blog, along with countless others, may no longer exist.
Shocked to hear that? It's the truth. Many of you may have heard of PIPA/SOPA, the infamous so-called "Internet Blacklist Bills" that intend to prevent online piracy. While I believe that Piracy should be discouraged as much as possible when it comes to software, games, and movies, these bills are misguided. The way that they are written is so overly vague...Read Full Post »

Recently, while looking up some theme songs from shows from my childhood for my side project, Reverse Your Ears (a Youtube channel project where I reverse popular songs and listen to them; check it out here), I uncovered the theme song from an old favorite show of mine when I was a child - Sailor Moon. Relistening to the original english Sailor Moon theme song instantly brought back memories of my childhoo...Read Full Post »

Note: The following is a repost of a discussion from Youtube regarding plot details of the videogame Myst III: Exile. It is assumed that you have played this game already to the end if you are reading this; if not your game might be slightly spoiled by some of the plot details herein.
Recently, I was asked an interesting question by a fan of mine over on my Youtube channel named LeonardMeltsner, who was slightly confused about some of the t...Read Full Post »

Note: This article uses some terminology that may be unfamiliar to people who are not phans (fans of Phantom of the Opera). If you are one of those people, there are some common conventions used amongst phans, such as calling the Phantom by his real name (Erik) and using certain in-jokes (such as the "Fop Raoul" in-joke). I will try to keep these to a minimum, but no promises. There are also some common abbreviations used within the phandom to refer to things that you should be aware of if...Read Full Post »

Errata as of 8/25/12: It has come to my attention that I have misspelled the name of the region featured in Pokemon Black and White as "Unoa". It is actually "Unova". Also, I mistakenly said that the Legendaries Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect are not in any Pokemon game released by Nintendo - they, along with a group of Legendaries known as the Musketeer Trio (the Legendary Deer mentioned in the blog entry), are going to be featured as Legendaries in Pokemon Black 2 and W...Read Full Post »

Yes, fellow nerds and nerdettes, it is truly the end of an era - this month, Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple Computers and reigning king of nerdkind until a certain Mr. Gates detroned him in the late eighties, passed away of pancreatic cancer. He was 52. Everyone has heard this story and even I, a diehard Windows-user, was saddened by the loss of one of technology's greatest icons. And so were many others, including a student living Hong Kong named Jonathan Mak (no, really). A graphic design...Read Full Post »

... Really. Well and truly, really, dead. Just about every person on this planet that has an internet connection and comparitively little internet restriction heard the news last Summer that the radical Islam extremist leader, Osama bin Ladin, was killed in a raid on a hideout of his (and yes, I must mention the words "radical" and "extremist", because the less intelligent and tolerant out there in the audience will otherwise think I mean all Muslims). And by killed, we all know as logically-...Read Full Post »
